International fisheries conferences

the MGH has been organizing together with the FAO since 1995 small pelagic conferences. Theses highly successful conferences were organized in cooperation with various countries : in 1995 and 1997 in South Africa, in 1996 in China, in 1999 in Ireland and in 2001 in Morocco. According to the countries’ specificities other topics can be added. In 2001 the “Squid & Small Pelagics” conference welcomed 175 delegates coming from 31 countries. The MGH also organized together with FAO-EASTFISH the Salmon Summit conference in 2001.

Sustainability/Tracebility/Labeling Sustainability and marketing – a contradiction? The fact that sustainability and marketing are not necessarily a contradiction in terms has been discussed by high-ranking speakers at the “Quality Conference”. Taking place parallel to “fish international” for the first time, practical, concrete measures were at the top of the agenda of the forum.
